The employees of Linak Slovakia, conquered Lomnicky peak / one of the highest mountains in High Tatras/
In Linak Slovakia Company work many young and enthusiastic people, who like to together at corporate events. A lot of interesting events and trips have been organized by the boys from industrial engineering department. We all got email about this trip and we could decide about the date of the trip, means of transport and we could take our friends or relatives along. We could choose whether to go hiking or to take a cable-car. In the end, thirteen colleagues applied and agreed to go to an adventurous and exciting trip to High Tatras on 1 May 2010, we all were full of expectations and courage. The journey took about an hour and half from Presov to Tatranska Lomnica. Then we set off to 2.5 – 3 hour hike. We, of course, enjoyed walk through dwarf – pine area, too. The more able colleagues made it in two hours. The others didn’t get discouraged and kept walking at their own pace. We knew that there is a spectacular view on the top. We enjoyed our lunch together at Skalnate pleso. The weather was beautiful all day, so after a short break we enjoyed a lovely view in the altitude of 1,764 m. We could also see the skiers enjoying the last skiing this year, take beautiful pictures of the frozen lake or of the highest weather-bureau. It was by far not the end of the trip. The best was still to come. We were going on a ten- minute return journey by cable car for 16 people to Lomnicky stit and stay there for 50 minutes in the altitude of 2, 634 m. At 15:10 we were all waiting for our cable-car to take us up to the peak. We were trying to take it easy and make jokes because looking at the cable-car just hanging on cable, we didn’t feel very comfortable. We fought our fear by preparing the cameras to take pictures of the beauty, which was waiting for us. After ten minutes we got off happily and after climbing about twenty stairs we could look at the surrounding peaks and valleys of High Tatras. After beautiful fifty minutes, which we spent by taking pictures and admiring, we returned back down to Skalnate pleso. As we enjoyed the journey a lot we decided to continue to Tatranska Lomnica and so our legs could rest. Back in Tatranska Lomnica we had delicious bacon, beer and coffee, full of memories of a beautiful day.
